Circular Economy Strategy for chilean textile sector

In 2023, CAV+S was selected by the Chilean Environment Ministry to lead the development of the Circular Economy Strategy for chilean textiles.

This strategy, which was thought within the Hoja de Ruta para un Chile Circular al 2040, was developed through a participatory process, hearing opinions, impressions and comments from about 277 people from the chilean textile industry. Additionally, a Strategic Commitee was created, formed by 35 representatives whose job is to keep working on the strategy.

8 workshops were also performed, split by macrozones and sectors. Their main purpose was to recognize opportunities, challengers and needs from various regions and sectors, which was very helpful in understanding the national context.

A national survey was also conducted, collecting answers from about 2.000 chilean citizens. The survey's main purpose was to recognize the ways in which chilean people use, consume and take care of their textile products.

This participative process lead up to a strategy proposal, including its leading principles, vision and purpose, with clear goals and actions to help in the transition of the textile sector to a circular one.

This proposal will soon be able for public consultation.
