Last June, the study Pushing the boundaries of EPR policy for textiles, developed by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, was published.

We contributed to the publication of said study, which explores the current state of the different EPR policies, and identifies the challenges and opportunities that arise in their implementation and adoption. CAV+S contributed with context from the Chilean textile industry; which, within the framework of the Circular Economy Strategy for Textiles, presents different challenges regarding circularity and sustainability.

For us, as a consulting company whose work is based on sustainability and circularity applied to different industries; the Extended Producer Responsibility Law must be addressed from prevention, starting with the design of the products.

We are very pleased to know that necessary measures are being taken to advance this issue. With the development of the Circular Economy Strategy for textiles, several challenges related to the disposal of post-consumer textiles were raised, and also opportunities to address circularity from the moment the product is conceived.
